Use love
To hold me here;
To hold me down
On this cold table

That won’t get swallowed away.

My clothes all folded neatly at the door,
Shoes pointing.
Maybe you’re in your office, waiting
Waiting to change the paper
Before I tie my gown, and
After you cover me in kisses.

I can’t believe no one has ever
Shut me up like this.
My mind a rolling void,
Except for one thought;

If you do come back,
Use love
To hold me here.
